    Creating Paper Designs

    Dates: May 25th, July 27th, Sept. 21st
    Cost: Class $70 (includes supplies provided by Instructor) - Payable to Instructor (Cash,
    check or credit card)
    Discover a new creative world as you learn to create exquisite, original designs on
    watercolor paper. The art-paper you create can be used in any project or
    application using paper as an element. You will learn several techniques using paste,
    paint, inks, and salt. Artistic experience is not required, creativity and great fun
    available at class.
    We will also focus on two types of monoprinting.

    Handcrafted Art Journal/Book

    Time: 11AM – 4:30PM
    Dates: July 13th, September 7th
    Cost: Class $85 - Payable to Instructor (Cash, check or credit card)
    Kit available for $15 (Includes supply cost) Kit includes all paper torn or cut to size, Book
    Board cut to size, Needles for sewing, Tyvek tape, Book Cloth for spine, waxed linen thread,
    beads and eyelets.
    Students: Require a minimum of 2 students for holding class
    In this class we will make a 5x7 art journal. Each student will make their own
    art paper for the journal. The first half of the class we will create paste
    papers, with your own unique designs, to be used for the book covers, end
    papers and for accenting each signature.
    We will review all aspects of the book: covers, spine, end papers, and
    signatures.
    The Art Journal will be constructed next. We will cover our book covers
    using papers created in the morning and sew the signatures using a long
    stitch.

    Handcrafted Book – Etched Metal Covers

    Dates: June 15th, August 10th
    Cost: Class $85 - Payable to Instructor (Cash, check or credit card)
    Kit available for $15 (Includes supply cost) Kit includes all paper torn or cut to size, Brass
    for book covers, Needles for sewing, strip of leather for spine, waxed linen thread and
    eyelets.
    Students: Require a minimum of 2 for holding class
    In this class we will make a 4x6 art journal. Each student will etch their own
    covers for the journal and will construct the journal.
    We will review all aspects of the book: covers, spine, end papers, and
    signatures.

    Handcrafted Book – Polymer Clay Covers – Coptic Binding

    Time: 11AM – 5:00PM
    Date: November 16th
    Cost: Class $85 - Payable to Instructor (Cash, check or credit card)
    Supplies:  For the book are provided by Instructor.  Each student should bring a ruler, pencil, paper, awl (if you have one), square (a woodworking or a metal tool)- Optional
    Students:  Require a minimum of 2 students for holding class
    In this class we will design and embellish polymer clay book covers, create signatures and learn the ancient Coptic Stitch binding.  The Coptic Stitch is one of the oldest binding stitches. You will learn the traditional method for this binding.  You will love your first edition either for yourself or as a gift. Finished book size is 4 ½ x 5 ¾.
    We will review all aspects of the book: covers, spine, end papers and signatures.
